How can a person not be afraid in a Universe which is basically indifferent to his single personality? The human condition, a condition of intelligent self awareness, comes with a great price. More intelligence, more information brings less and less comfort. Personal evolution away from habitual narrow ways of looking at the planet and Universe leads to mindful living with a deep understanding of personal mortality and insignificance. This point of awareness is an intersection in the human path. Achieving wealth is one way from this point. The commonly asserted notion that crosses all cultures basically translates, "It is better to be rich and mortal than poor and mortal." This is the motivator for what is increasingly the global materialism. Another path from the point of acknowledgement of mortality is acceptance of mortality and personal insignificance. I have had to cross the intersection of Mortality Street and Insignificance Lane many times in my eventful life. Each time I try to look for a path which passes through Nature's beauty and the wealth of positive life experiences around me. Each time, I try to shed more and more of what possesses me and what I possess. This has diminished my fear of the cold physical realities of the Universe. This has helped me to reconcile myself with my own approaching death.
