Prophets

Were prophets of old madmen? Or were they visionaries? Were they perhaps the intelligent and observant misfits of societies throughout the ages? And why are their messages so distorted and abused when they are subjected to the interpretation of the mainstream? Jesus is used to spearhead the justification for mean-spiritedness and war. Buddha's message is turned into elitist ritualistic bullshit. It seems Mohammed's followers are fulfilling the true message of their warrior prophet, therefore one must wonder if perhaps he was actually a man of peace. My practice allows for vision and the madness to believe that human happiness will eventually evolve on this planet through peaceful cooperation and compassion.
