Women

Recently two female Presidents have been elected. One in Liberia. One in Chile. The Liberian President appears to have been tucked into office by the U.S. administration's influence over that impoverished nation. However, the Chilean President-elect is a past victim of Fascism under Pinoche, the American-backed dictator, who crushed socialism in Chile after the assassination of its validly elected leftist President. It is my hope that this Chilean election is a preview of things to come. It is part of my practice to maintain a mindfulness about the experience and consciousness of women in the world, as it is quite different from men's experience and consciousness. As the bearers of new human life and as the nurses of those who are sick and dying, women are brought closer to the essential life experiences by their very nature. I feel strongly that the next evolutionary step for the human species will entail men gladly sharing greater political and economic power with women and women gladly sharing greater emotional and healing power with men. Perhaps that step will bring human beings to greater balance to the benefit of the planet.
