Sexual intercourse is confused with emotional and psychological relating all the time by all genders and sexual preferences. Sexual intercourse is a biological behavior, based in hormonal instincts and drives. This confusion does not seem to be cleared despite the modern compartmentalization of sexual intercourse from other kinds of relationships. Developing a practice based in mindfulness and detachment from behaviors based in need, greed, or impulsive desire is very hard indeed. Maintaining that practice alongside intimate and committed relationships is even more difficult. Overcoming the body's desires to feed the mind is a constant challenge to human evolution.
