Practice

Practice is in the moment. I offer these suggestions for practice.

Surf the moments of your life with mindfulness and an intention to be compassionate.

Begin with a promise to yourself to do what needs to be done as soon as you see it needs to be done without yielding to laziness or panic or perfectionism. Be courageous.

If you feel frustrated, sleep, have sex, seek affection, meditate and/or exercise more.

Address need where you see it in yourself and in others. Don't turn away. Give what you can, even if it is simply an acknowledgment and a smile.

Be wholly you in each interaction or task. Don't hold back. Feel, express, connect. Learn to trust yourself.

Put aside strategy for practice. By being fully who you wish to be in the moment, you become a better person to yourself or to others than any intellectual strategy can deliver .
