ABOUT H8ers

I think the neologism "H8" has somehow become so oddly powerful that it has acted like a brain infection on many progressives of stunted maturation. In other words, the symbol has morphed into a neuro-chemical trigger. This could explain the ready use of words like "racist", "homophobe", "Nazi", "fascist", etc., by many well-meaning youngsters and oldsters who have been traumatized by the recent seismic changes in society caused by war, fundamentalist religion, climate change and overpopulation.

Smart people who have studied the effects of language on behavior and behavior on language over time have certainly documented the two-way interaction extensively. Two of my favorites are Marshall McLuhan and George Orwell. I am sure there are more contemporary Neurological and Psychiatric treatises on the subject. I have read enough about it to wildly speculate that a neologism or logo can uplift or poison a brain susceptible to its symbolic message. Unfortunately, those most susceptible are those least likely to educate themselves on their vulnerability. Hence mob mobilization for unworthy causes by shrewd shepherds with bad agendas.

I am saying it is possible that modern IT communication through streaming video and images on screens can indeed achieve Orwellian proportions of social domination and/or unrest by groups of affected people. Manipulated minds carrying out the agendas of manipulating minds. The manipulators dismissively call those who see them doing their work "conspiracy theorists". War of mind control. The totalitarian state of Orwell's 1984 is a blueprint for modern statecraft. Eventually, no real terrorist threat will be needed to mobilize the public toward deeper conformity. 

Nothing illustrates the power of media over mind like the support of Muslim ideology by The New Left and Liberal Progressives. Islam is an ideology of mental enslavement, homophobia, xenophobia and misogyny. Yet The New Left, populated visibly by many self-identified LGBTQ people, rushes to defend Islam at every turn. They have repackaged head scarves on women as a matter of fashion choice, for example. Anyone who calls out the obvious threat of Islam to individual human rights is called a H8er. This is obviously insane.

The H8 neologism in media propaganda has been effectively used to rationalize a brutal form of group think. Conform or be labelled a H8er. That label implies that you are racist, sexist, xenophobic and homophobic. It is the Scarlet Letter of our age. And, like the Scarlet Letter which caused Hester Prynne's misery in Hawthorne's romance, it symbolizes a group think which is anti-progress, anti-human-rights and anti-science. It represents an addled public mind which cries "no judging" one moment and labels people for ridicule the next when they assert an opinion contrary to the hive's.
