CIVILIZATION VS MULTICULTURALISM

My seven years of Jesuit education were based in a deep study of Western Civilization. This entailed extensive education in political, social, linguistic and archaeological history. I was a math-science major through most of that time, but the core curriculum was enforced vigorously. The Jesuits had participated in enough bloody history in Asia, South America, North America and Europe to understand the necessity of civilizing their students. 

I agree with Milo Yiannopoulos in his defense of Western Civilization against proponents of naive multiculturalism. His recent rant about this in Australia, laced with acerbic humor, is available on You Tube. However, I think Douglas Murray is more eloquent on the topic. Idiotic multiculturalism has corrupted our civilized pursuit of truth and reason through science. It has enabled manipulative religious fanatics, like Linda Sarsour, to gain prominence and legitimacy in our media. It is emboldening the least productive and most destructive in society to assert their moral superiority based in false narratives. 

All cultures are not equal. Human beings in cultures have choices concerning multicultural education and adaptation. Educated human beings in The West might well forget that it is their Western education which has sensitized them to cultural differences. Undermining that basic education in Western Civilization by denigrating it as a negative symptom of some mythical White Privilege is counterproductive for all human beings. Western Civilization, despite its human faults, is the global source of art, science, technology, psychological research, medical research and human rights expansion. 

Western Civilization grew out of the daring assertions of many non-religious thinkers against the ignorance of ritual, superstitious habits and cultural beliefs. Western Civilization has been slowly evolving from its enhancement within and by aristocracies to an egalitarian model of merit over heritage. This evolution in the republics and parliamentary kingdoms of Europe, North America and South America has led to stable advancements in science and human rights. This presents a harsh contrast when compared with the failed revolutionary Marxism of the former U.S.S.R.. And, it is no wonder that those who now seek to destroy the reputation of Western Civilization are neo-Marxist professors in Western universities. They are the metastases of Soviet cancer, nearly extinguished in Russia, but now growing invasive tumors in universities of The West. Their gospel of blind equivocation is both illogical and lawless. 

The great enemy of Western Civilization is not stupid multiculturalism. The great enemies of The West are the poorly educated Western bourgeoisie whose embrace of materialism and greedy capitalism have blinded them to the source wisdom which has brought them their affluence and comfort. Multiculturalism has grown in this class out of a warranted sense of guilt, twisted into the myth of universal White Privilege. This shallow mea culpa  of White Privilege is equivalent to the hostile and insincere "I'm sorry." which has become commonplace in the U.S.. The selfish and rude have honed the fake apology to an effective social weapon. 

Colonialism, slavery, war ... these are elements of all cultures throughout history. Attributing these faults to one civilization, Western Civilization, is not only ignorant but also self-defeating. It is a denial of history, but also a refusal to carry the torch of progress in favor of sliding backwards to superstition, anti-science and tribalism. Perhaps the greatest failing of Western Civilization is its enabling of too many fat, lazy and selfish human beings at a time when the human species is in peril.
