HARVEY, HILLARY AND HYPOCRISY
The online environment was gotten pretty crazy. Perhaps warfare will be waged here in future. Meme bombs hurled back and forth until opposing forces are mentally exhausted enough to reach an agreement to interact civilly. Better than real bombs but makes a mess of what was once a wonderful tool for civilized reporting and communication.
I started my aggravation today with a story from Twitter about a Brit politician persecuting a gay organization ( @NoSharia on Twitter) for protesting against Sharia Law in Stockton, UK. The UK government apparently considers protesting against the murder of homosexuals by religiously inspired barbarians to be "right wing". So, my speculation that The Left, the neo-feminist, tranny-loving Left, is a fraudulent group of Marxist lunatics hiding behind the skirts of ... well, you can finish that thought.
I also caught up with the firing of Tom Ashbrook from one of our local public radio stations. I was a regular listener of the show for many years, until I turned my back on WBUR's Leftist anti-male and anti-White messaging. Yes, this is Boston, so I have had to adjust to feeling more and more marginalized by local media. Ashbrook's on-air voice resounded with balanced reporting and basic decency. In fact, his ethics, often explained by him as coming from his Midwestern rural roots, were very evident in his interviews and coverage of events. But he was fired for being "mean" to coworkers. It is likely that very "meanness" made the show the excellent broadcast it consistently was.
Then there is the perverse bond between Harvey Weinstein and Hillary Clinton, whose relationship with the #MeToo bogey man of Hollywood is well documented in political contribution accounts, photographs and videos. Perhaps a threesome with that other Clinton-Weinstein groupie, Meryl Streep? Who knows what depravity reigns in that circle?
I was recently enjoying a Hollywood-produced spy thriller on cable. Berlin Station has a good cast. The first season was an engaging and suspenseful thriller with little or no political message. I liked it. The first episode of season two ended my romance.
Suddenly Ashley Judd, an avid Hillary groupie, is in a pivotal role in Berlin Station as a pro-Merkel, anti-Trump crusader against anyone who is against unlimited Muslim migration in Germany. All the independent characters, noted for their constant hectoring of the old White male boss of the first season, suddenly fall into line. And the old White male, now retired, is portrayed as going to the dark side against them. Hollywood crassly politicized and ruined a great show. That is why I haven't added a link to it here.
Those who do not follow UK politics may not know a certain Owen Jones. This twink has apparently somehow slept or sucked his way into the poster-boy role of the Labour Party. He is the Pewdiepie of Brit Labour politics. There is no message of Labour political correctness which Owen Jones hasn't punted on YouTube and Twitter. He is the millennial mouthpiece of manipulative insincerity. The gay Goebbels of the UK Left. All I needed this afternoon was to see one of his proud tweets about silencing Katie Hopkins on LBC radio.
Owen's favorite form of self-aggrandizement is bragging about how he has silenced opposition voices with his media prowess. That prowess, however, has failed him when confronted on a talking head show by more intelligent guests. He did a famous Sky News walk-off in a huff like a toddler whose toy had been broken on a play date. Why? Because the other hosts kept referring back to the Islamist nature of an attack on LGBT people in Orlando and its universal, not just LGBT, horror. You see, in Owen's warped perception (or his brief from Labour masters), Muslims are not anti-gay. They are, in his deranged party-loyal patter, a misunderstood minority.
The hypocrisy of identity politics, fueled by ideologue-possessed media, in North America and Europe has become more than evident. Is is corrupting the public space like a virulent cancer. And its celebrities are the tumors, around whom diseased mentalities of those who cannot think for themselves form social metastases of virulent discord and incivility. I will not join one camp or another, centered on these celebrity whores. But I do watch them carefully from the position of infection control. I am on guard against their unprocessed influence on my own mind.
