MOBS, NOT PROTESTS

Antifa Clowns in Germany

We are living in a time of excess, evidenced in many human forms as morbid obesity and/or clownish exhibitionism. Alcohol sales are booming. Marijuana is now a legal substitute for prescribed and monitored tranquilizers. Amazon's vast creeping control of retail sales speaks to materialists' addictions to whimsical purchases in moments of anxiety or elation. It's 'fat and happy' without the 'happy'.

The rise of unchecked violent mobs in certain urban environments is a symptom of the lack of social integrity in today's U.S.A.. And it is not Donald Trump's fault, despite his being the manufactured focus of the puppet masters of these mobs. Eight years of an educated and articulate Black U.S. president led us here, not Donald Trump. Two generations of overly permissive parenting led us here. Decades of abandoned urban public education led us here. Decades of trash media, such as reality TV, led us here. And the usurping of solid broadcast news reporting by media moguls' opinions brought us here. Most notably starting with Ted Turner's CNN.

The death of public psychiatric services for low-income populations has led to the untreated masses of dysfunctional homeless ex-felons in our cities. Prisons have replaced hospitals for profit. The misguided choice by politicians to close publicly funded mental hospitals in the 1970's and 1980's, in response to misrepresentations of those institutions in movies and on TV, has not saved taxpayers anything. It laid the groundwork for today's violence and chaos.

Police in urban America once had a place to bring violently insane disruptors of communities where these people were treated medically instead of being thrown into a jail cell. Police were not expected to revive comatose junkies. They took those who survived their own addiction to a hospital. From there, a repeatedly suicidal alcoholic or drug addict would be admitted to a public psychiatric facility for detox and treatment. Police officers were able to discern madness from pure malevolence and act accordingly with public trust in their decision. The psychiatric establishment was not hostile to law enforcement, as it appears to be now.

The psychiatric establishment's moralism in politics is unfounded in its own behavior. It abandoned the most needy and most dysfunctional while blabbering nonsense about de-institutionalization. Pills, they claimed, were the new healers of all that makes a person insane. No need to actually care for or talk with someone. No need to make sure that a dysfunctional person has structure and safety in which to recuperate or simply compensate. Now what little structure and safety exist for these same people lies behind prison bars. And they gain the added stigma of being ex-cons.

Today's screaming Left in urban environments is mobilizing these disenfranchised people for their own cynical purposes. Tent cities are great recruiting grounds for Antifa and other fringe groups. The Occupy movement pointed the way to today's chronic urban anarchy. Malign and stigmatize police. Force the hand of riot squads. Belittle anyone who stands for principled public law and order. Don the cloak of a victim, but act like a mad dog. These are age-old tactics used to undermine established order. Unfortunately, the history of what happens after that order is successfully undermined does not read like a happy-ending fairy tale.

The pillars of civilization are surrendering to the mob which howls for lowering social expectations: Educational institutions, law enforcement, judiciary, administrative government, media and organized beliefs. This is enabling a faster decline in public discourse and public spaces. Protesters present an intelligent and coherent argument in public against an opposing viewpoint. Mobs dress like bandits and clowns while performing vandalism and violence against anyone who speaks up against their behavior. Mobs exploit the dispossessed. They do not help them. Mobs exploit the tragedy of crime by defending criminals. They do not help the actual victims of crime. Failure of civilizing institutions to stand up to mobs will eventually ruin the quality of life for everyone.
