TIME TO LET IT GO

The election of President Trump was a big letdown for several segments of the American population. While the focus of the conservative mass media remains aimed at the Democrat Party, the worst outrage comes from older White women of the upper social-economic variety. Their entitlement to power was denied when Hillary Clinton went down in flames against two fringe candidates, Donald and Bernie.
This was a narcissistic injury to women who had aged into Reagan Liberals as they raised their spoiled children in coastal cities and suburbs. I heard them on the subways here in Boston. With a flip of a Hermes scarf, a Cambridge type would expound on Hillary's great success as Secretary of State. I would pinch myself to make sure I hadn't fallen through a black hole into an alternate universe.
These 'folks' had fallen in love with their own images as liberated from consciousness of class and race by the act of voting for Saint Obama and Saint Michelle. Sure, they lived in White neighborhoods where the only People Of Color lugged housecleaning supplies to and from a crappy secondhand car, parked in a multi-million-dollar driveway. But they understood that they were helping the Third World get on its feet by paying it minimum wage.
My own upper-class suburb hosts fewer and fewer Black Lives Matter signs on front lawns these days. I speculate that young Caucasian Americans in secondary schools today are growing out of White self-hatred. And that's a good thing.
Liberals set their Leftist pit bulls on the country as a whole as they raged at Trump for knocking down comfy Clinton hypocrisy, resurrected in the failed Great Black Hope, Obama. He managed to get by because he fed every Liberal fantasy in his early presidency. The coastal middle classes ate it up, even though those fantasies never came true. It seemed his acknowledgment of their fantasies of a painlessly post-racial and quasi-socialist world were enough.
His later years proved them wrong to anyone who was really "woke". He left a country in social turmoil domestically, self-shamed internationally and neck-deep in badly managed wars. Trump closed the door on four more years of bourgeois self-delusion. Liberals became grumpy children rudely awakened after an 8-year nap. They have been throwing a big tantrum ever since.
It is time to let it go. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and CNN won't. They have invested too much in trying to put the bourgeoisie back to sleep while they rape and pillage the coffers in Washington. The Obama model, after all, became the Democrat solution to a guilty conscience. Talk salvation to "the less fortunate" while picking their pockets. Obama's Baptist-minister style belied his Baptist-minister model for making himself a rich man while delivering very little real "progress".
The Liberal coastal bourgeoisie are shrinking in America. You can only cannibalize your own base for so long. While the young and prosperous minority are flocking to high-price cities, the new castles of today's tech-wise aristocracy, the less prosperous majority grows and grows everywhere else.
Trump scares the dwindling coastal middle class because he points out that they are becoming a minority. He threatens them by trying to cut off their supply of future minions, who have been allowed to float across our southern border in the millions to produce generations of gullible voters in low-income rings around the castle-like cities they serve.
Trump has dared to point out that migrants bring their baggage with them from the under-educated and chaotic environments they are fleeing. He has dared to point out the tremendous costs American citizens have already paid to give the 11+ million illegal migrants a better life.
It is time to let it go. Hating President Trump is a symptom of Liberal impotence against the political forces they have sold out to in order to feel evolved. Having to admit that they were more manipulated than served by Obama challenges the moralist image that many in the coastal middle class cling to. Criticizing Obama and Hillary makes them feel racist and sexist because they are so racist and sexist that they cannot allow themselves to judge a Black man or a woman like Hillary Clinton on their merits, as they would any true equal.
