FROM ADMIRABLE PHENOM TO ANGRY RACIALIST

A certain academic of Dominican origins has graduated from being a model of the hard work of those who rise from poverty with the help of mentors to an angry racialist who uses his position in media to promote anti-White racialism. This darling of Leftist media has become a hateful voice of today's unjustifiable victim culture. He can be seen perhaps as the Jussie Smollett of Academia. I will leave him unnamed here to spare him justifiable embarrassment, presuming he is capable of same.

My assessment is based on watching him in videos on YouTube. Three years ago, this person did a short video about his journey from a NYC shelter to a professorship at an Ivy League university. In this video, he was a charming youthful person. He exhibited a cultivated diffidence when discussing his family's responsibility for his having no legal status in the U.S..

That was then. This is now. The more recent video posted this year shows a fattened and angry middle-aged man with racialist haughtiness spoken down to the surface of a podium. His speech to a symposium audience began with a denouncement of his own profession for being White. He denounced the symposium venue as too White. He made glancing, but enraged, reference to racial profiling by the hotel where the symposium was held without elaborating.

This supposedly exalted presentation at a national academic conference was a political rant against the country which has brought him fame, success and affluence. As if that were not vile enough, he has infected some of the self-appointed leaders of his profession with this victim nonsense. He is using it to promote his own image as a token victim.

Superficial research shows quite a different picture. He is not a victim. He is the beneficiary of considerable investment by privileged White people. He has surfed a wave of sympathy for immigrants in the U.S.. Now he turns and condemns this country's White privilege, which has granted him exceptional freedom of education and travel, despite his illegal status.

Perhaps the saddest irony of this person's apparent cognitive dissonance is his field of education, accomplishment and endeavor: Greco-Roman Classics. A person who has used education in Western Civilization to integrate into U.S. Academia at the highest level now racially condemns those who have built this great American society on the heritage of the Classical Period. Go figure.
