REVERSE McCARTHYISM

U.S. Senator Joseph McCarthy (1908-1957) capitalized on the Red Scare in post-WWII America to persecute his perceived enemies, anyone who had any former or present association with the American Communist Party. McCarthy was a Democrat before 1944, through the Roosevelt years. Once he had risen in the political ranks, he joined the Republican Party, the party which held political power under the eight years of President Eisenhower's administration. 

McCarthy, like some members of Congress today, was an opportunist who had no qualms about gutting anyone who stood in defiance of his paranoid mania. It is significant that McCarthy was rumored to be part of a closeted homosexual subgroup in Washington. He was reputedly a friend of J. Edgar Hoover, a closeted homosexual and father of the F.B.I..as we know it today. 

McCarthy's Black List tactics ruined many lives in America. His vitriolic self-righteousness while questioning suspected Communists in front of his Congressional committee is on film and is undeniable. Yet his biographers to this day dismiss his suspected homosexuality, despite an outing by one of his top aides, Roy Cohn, who died of AIDS in 1996.

Roy Cohn represented the most vicious form of homosexual self-hatred. He was notable for aiding in the conviction and death penalty for the Rosenbergs in their 1951 trial for treason. He was also a personal attorney for Donald Trump and Rupert Murdoch before his death from AIDS. He is said to have lobbied President Reagan on Murdoch's behalf. 

McCarthy and Cohn relied on vast Roman Catholic support. The Kennedy family supported McCarthy. McCarthy persecuted homosexuals in Washington and saw that many were purged from government jobs through entrapment, aided by the infamous Hoover.  It is rumored that one of Cohn's assistants, Robert Kennedy, left his position in reaction to Cohn's sexuality.

McCarthyism has come to mean the relentless abuse of power to prosecute a personal political agenda by destroying the reputation of those who disagree with that political agenda without attempting to follow legal due process. 

McCarthy and Cohn were the human representations of The Swamp in Washington, D.C.. They lived secret lives which would have lost the majority of public support and institutional support if exposed. That support eventually did collapse. McCarthy was eventually censured by the U.S. Senate after he attacked senior members of the Armed Forces. 

Today The Left of the Democrat Party represents ideologies and practices which seek to shame and silence opponents in the same way McCarthy did. This Reverse McCarthyism comes from a socialist perspective, a perfect example of the yin-yang of history's cycles. And the presence of the self-declared representatives of the extreme feminist and LGBTQI populations are in the vanguard. 

Now seems to be the time for persecution of those who maintain independent thought about politics and personal choices of lifestyle. Reverse McCarthyism is anti-scientific as well. It is hard to persecute people for free thought and free speech if you must answer to the evidence of their validity. It is hard to persecute people on the basis of personal accusations about them if you must first consider evidence of their guilt. 

Reverse McCarthyism is now overtly present in our U.S. House of Representatives due to the poor decisions made by electoral districts. The proponents of Reverse McCarthyism are not concerned with science or proof of infamy. They, like McCarthy himself, seek only the eye of the camera on their ideology. And, like McCarthy, their ideology is less about educated ideas than about vengeance, racism and sexism. 

It is my fervent hope that the Reverse McCarthyites tread a self-satisfied path to self-destruction as McCarthy himself did.
