ERASING GOOD RED LINES

 

Red lines can be good or bad. Red-lining in banking is bad. It entails drawing a red line around neighborhoods and refusing mortgages to applicants who want to buy within that red-lined zone. This obviously leads to the development of rundown slums. 

The Thin Red Line, like The Thin Blue Line, refers to a precious and good thing: The firemen in communities who risk their lives to fight fires and save lives. 

I am considering good red lines, and how they are being erased in today's society. 

Recent events in the US have been symptoms of the erasing a very basic red line of a civilized society. A civilized society draws a red line between itself and lawless anarchy. Once that line is erased by politicians and media, the society ceases to be a civilized one. 

A red line which separates human beings from other species is our capacity to easily differentiate between thought, speech and physical behavior. This red line has allowed us to evolve and live in proximity to one another without constant violence. Debate over war. Ideas over mindless reflexes. This red line is in the process of being erased in certain Leftist circles in America and abroad. Erasing it oppresses some and opens the door to the violent anarchy mentioned above. 

The human condition of being a mammal that is born, reproduces through sexual intercourse, nurtures its own young, contributes aged wisdom to the pack/tribe/society and dies is a red line drawn by Nature. (Homosexuals are born, channel and contribute their creativity to society, nurture their own, impart their wisdom and die.)

Yet huge resources of individuals and governments are expended on erasing that natural red line. The wealthy seek immortality or lifelong youth. The gender-disturbed seek to erase one set of genitals in exchange for another. Homosexuals seek to reproduce. The infertile or impotent compulsively strive to reproduce. A whole advanced human civilization is threatened in the name of "defeating" a virus. Think of the greater good that would result from returning to teaching children about our natural place in this world and how we can work with Nature in so many ways to improve human existence. 

The red lines of marking pencils in schools are being erased as well. Grading students on abilities and proficiencies is being framed as abuse by politicized and/or unskilled educators. Competitive drive is being stifled by drugging some children and elevating the less capable. Racializing education has lowered the general level of actual achievement. Gender and racial obsession may equalize and normalize, but education is our only path to progress and excellence. To normalize and equalize, educators stifle the naturally talented in favor of the mediocre.

The truly American red line protecting personal liberty to speak, to attend to private business and to simply walk freely in the public space without being controlled by government has been erased by medical "experts" who have somehow been given control of our government institutions by elected politicians. This has been done in one year after our forebears fought wars and sacrificed for 244 years to preserve that liberty. Complacency, cowardice, media propaganda and narcissistic detachment from society enabled by digital technology have all played their part.

The red line that has existed for centuries in civilized societies between lawfulness and criminality is being erased by those on the Far Left. Defunding police, attacking courthouses, advocating for eliminating prisons? This is simply antisocial and uncivilized claptrap. But a society which demeans achievement in favor of mediocrity, which squelches aspirational advancement in favor of narcissistic self-pity, has laid the smooth pavement for this downhill road to hell. 

Individual identity has always been at odds with human civilization's progress. Today, the misguided see identity as central to progress. This is delusional. Human individuals, like all mammals, must be educated away from their narcissistic focus on impulses and physical distraction. A human child raised without education and some discipline is behaviorally no different than a puppy that is allowed to grow up without training. Children and puppies both need to be properly socialized to function in civilized societies. This inevitably brings the good teacher to a place where the difference between good and bad must be taught in relation to identity and behavior in society.

Crowds of anonymous people with crude weapons who attack, loot, destroy and burn have erased the red line between civilized and uncivilized behavior, despite their insane sense of moral or ethical superiority. They erase for themselves what was never a fine line in human society. It has been a broad line for centuries. It is a red line that has defined us as socialized and evolving human beings, working toward a peaceful and united future for all. Unsocialized and uncivilized children in adult form do not understand this.
